I'll state right off as well I'm not biased toward Cubase as I'm a die hard Sonar user and have been with Cakewalk since their very first sequencing program on floppy a very long time ago. I realise this is a fairly open ended post but any crucial tips you may have which will assist my decision would be greatly appreciated. I am not a computer genius, I just want to make boss trax and get absolute bang for buck. Logic 8 and Abelton? Both look great but once again how do they intergrate with digi003 / motif etc? Limits? Useabilty re VST etc? Sound qual? Functionality and ease of connection with my motif?Īdditionally: comments on the RME800Firewire, superior or not to the 816csx? Does anyone have any comments regarding this equipment.? Flaws? Limitations? The useability of cubase? Sound Quality V's $ spent? Steinberg: Cubase, cc121 & 816csx with motifXS6 fully intergrated seems like an ideal solution. I suppose my question is do i head down the yam/stein path (full intergration) or build out of quality components.

I would appreciate a professional opinion from people who genuinely know the equipment. My hope is to purchase correctly the first time and grow into the equipment. Have been researching for the past 2 months and intend to buy additional equipment in Aug. Purchased the MotifXS6 and the BM6A MII's. My style is more MIDI focused with VST plugins. Slowly putting together my own studio at home.
